The school has aspired since its foundation in 1968 to an education that offers the best of both educational systems, British and Spanish.

Apart from encouraging and valuing independent thought, creativity, play, investigative skills, enjoyment of study, it also places great store by seriousness and application in study, by personal discipline in contrast to that externally imposed.

 It hopes, quite logically, to inculcate respect, tolerance and understanding of others, to nurture sensitivity and sensibility in the wider curriculum of life and living. The education advocated is essentially based upon values that seek to develop the whole person, all within an ethos of simplicity, respect, confidence, joy, austerity and realism.

Though a non-denominational school Kensington offers optional religious studies in Years 3-6 as part of its curriculum. 

Nevertheless, the transmission of moral and ethical values forms a central part of Kensington's ethos.

Through a British curriculum Kensington aspires to provide a solid grounding, and understanding, not only in the diverse range of subjects taught, but also an eminently practical knowledge of the English language. All pupils will have the opportunity of preparing for a number of University of Cambridge English as a foreign language examinations in their upper standary years. These will later enable them to pursue university studies abroad in English speaking countries.

Though the pre-eminent foreign language, English is not taught to the exclusion of others, French being the second foreign language taught from Year 7.
