Every first Monday of each month, the Travesía Team and the K social volunteer program organize the Solidarity Breakfasts, an activity that aims to develop the capacity to serve, through volunteer and solidarity actions of the Kensington school community.

On Monday, October 4, we inaugurated the activity with the organization of our first Solidarity Breakfast of the 2021-2022 academic year, with the participation of students from 3rd ESO to 2nd of Baccalaureate.

To carry out this breakfast, the students, together with the volunteer teachers, put food on sale in their patio for the rest of the classmates. As required by the special circumstances of this year, during breakfast, the bubble groups continued to be respected and when food was handled (both at home when preparing it, and at school when putting it on sale) it was done with a mask and gloves.

As on other occasions, 1 euro was charged for each drink. The money that was raised has been earmarked for the cause chosen by the students themselves, thus leading their learning, commitment and decisions. On this occasion to help the victims of the volcanic eruption on the island of La Palma, with a collection of 348 euros.

As always, we want to thank the families for their support in encouraging and helping their children to participate in this idea of solidarity, which turned out to be a success. Such was the response of the students in the contribution of products that we were able to continue breakfast during recess on Tuesday.

With the desire to foster in the students the "thirst for dedication to others" and enrich their hearts, we will continue developing this activity every first Monday of the month.
